Description

The inspiration for this painting comes from my love of painting people in motion and an acrobat sprang immediately to my mind.

The second of four acrobat paintings in this collection, shows a female acrobat performing a gymnastic move while dangling on a silk rope. She is performing a forward somersault and looks extremely graceful with her stretched legs and pointed toes. The move illustrates the strength in her arms as she supports herself while the striped leggings draw the eye to the position of her legs.

Again, this painting has a dark muted background which contrasts with the series of colourful streamers suspended from the ceiling. Just looking at her with head dangling down, is enough to make me feel dizzy – so it’s just as well that I never pursued a career as an acrobat😊

If you’ve been buying prints to hang on your walls, there are several reasons to consider buying from a local Andalusian artist such as myself.

Unique – It’s a good feeling to know that your painting is the only one out there.

Tactile – A print’s surface doesn’t compare to the touchable quality and texture of oil painted on canvas.

Handmade – All of my paintings are handmade – a quality that will bring richness and personality to your home, rather than a factory mass-produced print to fill a space in your wall.

Conversation piece – An original painting can act as a focal point in your room and is a great conversational piece too.

Makes your house a home – When you purchase an original piece of artwork you do it because you love it and it has a meaning to you. Perhaps you feel a sense of affinity with acrobats and just looking at pictures of them in your home gives you a feeling of comfort.

Refreshes your spirit – Looking at an original painting each day can make you feel happy and content. Why not save up for your favourite painting?

Collecting original paintings – Once you have purchased from a local Andalusian artist whose work you enjoy, you can start to build your own collection.
