Description

Buenos Aires is, without doubt, one of the most exciting cities I have ever visited. It has a wide range of architectural buildings and although it is firmly fixed on its future it hasn’t forgotten its colonial past.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, was constructed as part of the Franciscan Monastery in 1732 and dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar. The second oldest church in Buenos Aires, it has served the parish since 1821, following the expulsion of the Franciscans.
