The Cornet Player, 2019

Description

This painting is of a cornet player who was part of the town band performing in one of the many religious pageants in Castillo.

I particularly enjoy the religious pageants. The town band always makes an appearance with musicians of all ages forming the talented group. It’s a wonderful sight to behold and sounds incredible, too. The cornet player is painted from an unusual angle to highlight both the cornet and the musician.

Castillo de Locubin is a small community built on the side of a steep mountain in Jaen.  No matter where you go in the village you will always find a view of the surrounding mountains. The air is clean, the light is incredibly good and the atmosphere is warm.
